Juhana Tidel's novel Shine of Stars on the Ceiling written a little over 20 years ago, tells a story that remains relevant today, as the emotions and relationships she writes about are timeless.
Adolescence, through which Jena, the protagonist of the story, passes, is a delicate and complicated period of growth and maturation. This period is further complicated by the fact that her mother is ill. However, this is not just a story about illness. It is a story about love, growing up, friendship, falling in love, being a daughter and becoming a mother at different stages of life.
