CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP BY JELENA PALIGORIĆ SINKEVIĆ

     The creative writing workshop is designed as a research training ground. What does writing mean to us? What is it that writing can give us? How important is storytelling? What can we learn about the story, and what can it teach us?

The workshop is intended for children of older primary school age.

Bring a writing utensil and a backpack full of imagination.

Jelena Paligorić Sinkević - born in 1987 in Belgrade. Playwright. She stayed at residences in Pula, Rijeka, Bregenz, Berlin, Amsterdam, Frankfurt. She has received the award called Zmajeva nagrada (2014) and the Eurodram Award (2020), and won the competition of the publishing house "No Rules Publishing" (2022). Her plays have been performed in Belgrade and Novi Sad, she had stage readings in Croatia and Austria. She has also been writing for television, radio, newspapers and professional magazines. She is a contributor to NITI magazine, which is dedicated to puppetry since its establishment. The book "Children Are Somewhere Else" was published in 2018 as the winning manuscript of the "Prvenac" edition of the Student Cultural Center in Kragujevac. In the same year, the book was shortlisted for the "Biljana Jovanović" award. At the "Madlenianum" Opera and Theatre competition for young authors, she won with the romantic musical comedy "Dolce Vita". The manuscript "Boys Won't Carry Arms" won a competition of the publishing house"No Rules"and is publiљshed this year. She worked as a playwright in theatres in Belgrade, Šabac, Niš, Tuzla, Kruševac.
