STEP INTO THE ADVENTURE: SHIPS OF DREAMS!

When we think about our dreams, do we ever consider where they come from? And what kind of ships carry them?
This workshop is conceived as a journey on such a ship. What material do we use to build a dream ship? Do we build it alone or with others? What does it look like? And finally, which dreams embark on this journey?
In this workshop, we will write, draw and create. We will dream and sail.
You might be wondering—what does this have to do with theater?
Theater is fundamentally a journey. That’s why, in this workshop, we use theatrical techniques until we drop anchor and meet all our dreams.
The workshop will be led by Jelena Paligorić Sinkević, a dramaturg.
Jelena Paligorić Sinkević (1987) is a dramaturg who has stayed in residencies in Pula, Rijeka, Bregenz, Berlin, Amsterdam and Frankfurt. She has received the Dragon Award (2014), the Eurodram Award (2020) and an award from the NO RULES publishing house (2022). Her plays have been performed in Belgrade and Novi Sad and she has had staged readings in Croatia and Austria. She has also written for television, radio, newspapers and academic journals. She has been a collaborator with the magazine NITI, dedicated to puppetry, since its foundation. Her book “Children Are Somewhere Else” was published in 2018 as the winning manuscript of the “Prvenac” series by the Student Cultural Center in Kragujevac. That same year, the book was shortlisted for the “Biljana Jovanović” award. She won the young authors’ competition at the Madlenianum Opera and Theater with the romantic comedy-musical Dolce Vita. She then worked as a dramaturg on the project “Miss Julie” directed by Haris Pašović at the same theater. In the previous season, she worked as a dramaturg on projects at Madlenianum, the Pinocchio Puppet Theater, the Puppet Theater in Niš, the National Theater in Tuzla and the Šabačko Theater.
Her play “The Brave Seamstress,” performed by the Kruševac Theater, will open the 19th Zvezdarište Festival.
